Entries are being encouraged from charity and not for profit organisations for the chance to take part in the second Aberdeen Highland Games mascot challenge.
The Aberdeen Highland Games will take place on Sunday 19 June at Hazlehead Park and mascots will compete in six fun events for the chance to win cash prizes for their nominated charities. First prize will win £125, second prize £75 and third place will secure £50 for the nominated charities.
The first ever Aberdeen Highland Games Mascot Champion was Pantosaurus representing NSPCC Childline, who triumphed when the Highland Games was last held in 2019. Ten mascot spaces will again be available for those brave enough to take on the challenge. The stakes are high as they will compete in the following events: caber toss, highland fling, tug o’ war, long jump, 60m sprint and a stage performance.
The city's annual Highland Games is always a popular event with both local residents and visitors alike, with a mix of traditional events, entertainment and activities for all the family to enjoy.
Now in its 62nd year, spectators will also see all the traditional events including heavy events, solo piping and pipe band competitions, drum major competitions, track and field events, highland dancing and the Scottish tug o’ war championship.
To enter your mascot or for further information please visit our website. The closing date for entries is 12 noon on Friday 6 May and selection of the ten successful mascots will be made by a ballot.
