Aberdeen residents can continue to access essential services over the festive period to keep warm and fed.
With the cost of energy rising and growing fuel bills contributing to the cost of living, buildings across the city have opened their doors to welcome individuals, families, and communities to stay warm, share space, and potentially so much more through the Warm Spaces initiative.
Warm Spaces refers to public spaces (Council and Community) that offer a friendly welcome and safe environment for individuals, families and communities to meet, socialise or access facilities, information and guidance.
There are a range of Warm Spaces across the city providing a choice of activities.
Many of these facilities will remain open throughout the festive period for anyone to make use of.
More information on Warm Spaces, including opening hours, can be found via our website.
Foodbanks across Aberdeen are also remaining open during the festive period, with many offering a hot meal or food bag to communities and those in need.
These are community-run, and more information on foodbanks and their opening hours can be found using our interactive online map.
Communities, Housing and Public Protection Committee Convener Councillor Miranda Radley said: “We need to ensure that everyone is aware of places they can go to access support, keep warm and can also enjoy a hot meal.
“This is a difficult time of year for so many and it is important that we continue to help those most vulnerable in our communities.”
