Christmas in Aberdeen will continue on Monday (2nd December) when a blessing service for the nativity scene in Union Terrace Gardens will take place.
The Lord Provost of Aberdeen, Dr David Cameron, will welcome members of the public and local schools for the service on Monday at 10:30am.
The Lord Provost said: “I am looking forward to getting into the Christmas spirit and singing carols alongside our talented young people.
“The Nativity Scene is an important reminder of the true meaning of Christmas and one of the many fantastic festive events taking place across the city.”
The ceremony will be carried out by Aberdeen Churches Together, which is made up of multi-cultural religious groups from across the city.
Councillor Martin Greig will close the ceremony with a vote of thanks.
Popular Christmas carols will be sung by local school children, including O Little Town of Bethlehem and Away in a Manger.
The Nativity scene will be open daily, from dawn to dusk, until 5 January 2025.
Some of the arches in Union Terrace Gardens will be lit and decorated in a Christmas theme.
Union Terrace Gardens will also feature part of the new Christmas Light-Up Trail, where visitors and locals can discover 12 twinkling decorations across the city, created in collaboration with local charities.
