Northfield Love and Community event

Mental health and wellbeing session takes place in Northfield

A mental health and wellbeing event for those living in Northfield took place on Saturday 10 February 2024.

The Northfield Love and Community event, hosted at Heathryburn Primary School, is the second monthly event taking place in Northfield hosted by the Community Learning and Development Family Learning Team and is funded by the Northfield Partnership Forum.

Aberdeen City Council Communities, Housing and Public Protection convener Councillor Miranda Radley said: “It has been great to see the Northfield community coming together to support each other through these monthly events.

“Supporting the mental health and wellbeing of all individuals across Aberdeen should always be promoted and encouraged.”

The event featured wellbeing sessions that all ages could get involved in, including relaxed mindful sessions from MK Ruyi School for Qigong, yoga from Calm and Cool Yoga and Origin Yoga, storytelling from Once Upon a Tune and facepainting.

JG Ross (Limited) Bakers provided a high tea for attendees, as well as free food parcels being handed out by Cfine to those in need of support.

The next event will take place at Northfield Academy on 16 March and will be a Celtic Celebration, showcasing a marketplace of support that is available to the community.
