SCHOOL STRIKE ACTION – 26, 27 AND 28 SEPTEMBER
The GMB and Unison Trade Unions have called three days of industrial strike action from 26th to 28th September 2023. This is likely to reduce the number of ELC staff, office staff, support staff, cleaners, janitors and catering staff available to work on those days.
Given the high level of uncertainty around the number of support and facilities staff who will be available to provide support and health and safety cover, it is highly likely that we will have to close ELCs, primary and secondary schools and return to home learning for the three days.
Head Teachers will have a clearer understanding of staffing levels after the first day, and schools will make arrangements to open to specific groups of learners where possible.
Parents and carers have received letters informing them about arrangements.
