Thank you for your patience and understanding while buildings were closed and services were disrupted. ❤️
Thank you to everyone who assisted dealing with the storm. This includes our tree squad who dealt with more than 30 fallen trees yesterday and more overnight, roads teams, environmental services, building repairs, flooding team, building standards, social workers, call centre staff, and colleagues in Aberdeen Health and Social Care Partnership, Police Scotland, and Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.
Thanks also to members of the public who helped people out during the storm.

Fallen trees can be dangerous due to springback.

Please be extra careful in woods or woodland areas after Storm Éowyn as our tree squad were dealing with fallen trees in urban areas yesterday.

25/1/25, 7.45am

All Aberdeen City Council libraries are returning to their normal open hours today. Thank you for your patience while they were closed yesterday due to Storm Éowyn.

24/1/25, 4pm

Due to Storm Eowyn we were unable to empty most household bins today. Please store your bins safely for the rest of the day, and overnight, while the weather warning is in place.

Residents who had general waste bins out today should put them back out for Saturday morning and we'll be back to empty them. Unfortunately we won't be able to return for mixed recycling and brown bins so residents whose week it was for those should put them out again on their next scheduled bin day. We apologise for the inconvenience.
