The Council recognises that its assets are a significant and valuable resource to delivering efficient and effective services and in achieving the vision, aims and objectives of the Council. In order to maximise the potential from its assets they must be aligned with the organisation's corporate goals and objectives and managed in an active, effective and efficient manner.
The Council understands that effective asset management planning is the tool that creates the link between Council strategy and a corporate approach to property and sound property management and therefore needs to be dealt with corporately and championed at the highest level. If key resources are not managed strategically then rather than providing seamless integration, they create tensions and conflicts that may hinder the organisation.
