The finalists for the People’s Champion 2024 category of Aberdeen City Council’s annual Star Awards have been announced.
The nominees are:
Barbara Wright; Karen Bray; and Richard Ingram, Paddy Glenister and Jonny Cabrelli.
The Star Awards are the Council’s annual staff recognition awards. The People’s Champion is chosen by the public.
Earlier this year, city residents were invited to nominate a council employee/(s) who made an outstanding contribution to the community. The top three have been selected by an internal panel of judges – and now the public are being asked to vote for a winner.
Council Co-Leader, Councillor Ian Yuill, said: “Every one of the nominees deserve credit for being inspirational in their job, and especially the People’s Champion finalists. It is always rewarding to hear directly from the public about the great work our staff do.”
Communities, Housing and Public Protection Convener Councillor Miranda Radley, said: “It is important that we highlight the exceptional staff within the council who go above and beyond in their role to improve the lives of the people Aberdeen."
