Due to Storm Eowyn we were unable to empty most household bins today. Please store your bins safely for the rest of the day, and overnight, while the weather warning is in place.
Residents who had general waste bins out today should put them back out for Saturday morning and we'll be back to empty them. Unfortunately we won't be able to return for mixed recycling and brown bins so residents whose week it was for those should put them out again on their next scheduled bin day. We apologise for the inconvenience.

The Met Office has issued a YELLOW weather warning for snow and ice, from midnight tonight (Friday) to 11am tomorrow (Saturday).
This is in addition to the existing weather warnings for strong winds.
*Some roads and railways likely to be affected with longer journey times by road, bus and train services
*Probably some icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths
*Some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces

The AMBER weather warning is from 1pm TODAY (Friday) to 6am TOMORROW (Saturday) which means the weather will get worse.
The weather warning then reverts back to YELLOW from 6am tomorrow to 3pm tomorrow.
*There is a good chance that power cuts may occur, with the potential to affect other services, such as mobile phone coverage
*Probably some damage to buildings, such as tiles blown from roofs
*Longer journey times and cancellations likely, as road, rail, air and ferry services may be affected
* Flying debris is likely and could lead to Injuries or danger to life
