Flood warnings and information

For further information on flooding in Scotland and up to date accurate weather warnings please see:

Scotland now has a direct flood warning service which is provided by the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA). It allows the user to sign up to receive free SEPA flood warning messages direct to a landline or mobile phone, notifying the user when a flood warning message has been issued in the local area.

Blockages in rivers and burns

Rubbish dumped in rivers and burns can result in blockages, choking up culverts and seriously increase the risk of flooding. If you see rubbish dumped in or along a river or burn please report the flytipping to our teams who will deal with it:

If the blockage relates to road drainage or blocked road gullies, you can also report this online:

Any faults relating to sewerage or sewage should be reported to Scottish Water on 0800 077 8778 or through their online portal.
