How we use your information 

Aberdeen City Council is asking for your contact details (names and email addresses) so that we can

  • send you a link to our forthcoming Early Learning and Childcare – Parent and Carer Consultation.  If you decide to respond to the consultation you can do so anonymously.
  • invite you to participate in some more in-depth research following the end of the consultation

Your contact details will only be used for the above purposes and will not be further shared.

How long we keep your information?

We will keep your contact details until we have completed our in depth research. 

Your rights 

You have rights in relation to your data, including the right to ask for a copy of it.  See more information about the rights you have, as well as the contact details for the Council’s Data Protection Officer.  You also have the right to make a complaint to the Information Commissioner's Office if you think we haven’t handled your data properly.

Our legal basis 

Aberdeen City Council is the Data Controller for this data. Wherever we process personal data we must have a legal basis in data protection law and tell you what it is. The Council understands our legal basis for processing as necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of the official authority vested in the Council. This is because Aberdeen City Council have the statutory obligation to regularly consult with parents and carers regarding the care of their children under the Children and Young People (Scotland) Act 2014.
