The EIS and AHDS Teaching Unions have called an initial day of strike action in pursuit of their national pay claim on 24 November 2022. This is like to significantly reduce the number of classroom teachers available to work on 24th November.
Given the high level of uncertainty around the number of teaching staff who will be available to teach classes in all schools across the city on this first day of strike action, the council has taken the decision to close all schools to pupils for the day.
Schools have written to parents and carers to inform them about arrangements.
Our Early Learning and Childcare provision will be open as normal.
