Climate Week North East (CWNE) is ten days packed full of fun, inspiring and interesting events, designed to raise awareness of climate change but, more importantly, show what we can all do to make a difference and reduce our carbon footprint, live sustainably and increase biodiversity in a fun way. This year's CWNE takes place between Friday 15 and Sunday 24 March, with events on throughout Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire.

Council-led Events

The following Council-led events will be taking place in Aberdeen City:

Clean Up Aberdeen at Hazlehead Park is for the community to come together and work together to keep the city clean. This is your chance to join with other volunteers and litter pick! Get some fresh air, exercise while making a difference. Equipment provided- 15th March 12:00-14:00. Book Bug Sessions  - Weather and the Environment
15th March 10:30-11am Old Aberdeen Library*
15th March 2:00-2:30pm Central (Children's) Library*

Songs, rhymes and a story designed to support children’s development while having fun. 
​​​​​​​Numbers are limited. Booking is essential. 

 

Green City Family Fun Day at Hazlehead Park (no booking required) - Join us for a day of green family fun! Learn about local opportunities for enjoying the outdoors as well as information on sustainable transport and ways to live a more eco-friendly life - and more! The little and big kids among us will have a whole heap of fun while learning!- Saturday 16 March, 11:00 - 15:00

 

Junk Sculptures- Join us for a special craft and story session, making your own special sculpture from junk!

Tissue Flower Crafting- Celebrate nature this CWNE with our spring time crafting and story session and learn how to make your own tissue paper flowers.

Junk Creations - Come along to our special craft session for 5 to 12 years and learn how to turn your junk into a Bird House for our feathered friends.

TechFest - Join us for a special Climate themed TechFest session.

Community Growing Workshop

Family fun activities all about food sustainability! Stalls by One Seed Forward, CFINE, Granite City Good Food. Opportunities to swap seeds, plant something to take home and more.

There is something for all ages!
