Recycling points

You can recycle items at the recycling points listed below. You can put all the items listed into the large bins with blue lids mixed recycling bins.

Please do not leave anything next to bins. This is flytipping and is illegal. Large items such as furniture and rubbish in black bags should be taken to your nearest Household Waste and Recycling Centre. 

• Paper and cardboard. Please flatten cardboard boxes before putting them in the bin. Please do not leave any large bits of cardboard next to bins. If your cardboard is too big to fit in the bin you can take it to a Recycling Centre.
• Glass bottles and jars.
• Plastic bottles, tubs and trays. Please rinse plastic bottles out and flatten them before recycling.
• Food and drink cans, aerosol cans, foil trays and kitchen foil. Please make sure aerosol cans are empty and kitchen foil and foil trays are clean. Cans can be crushed or uncrushed.

Recycling points are available for use 7 days a week, all year round. However, please consider nearby residents and only use them between 8am and 8pm.

If you find that large items have been left beside bins, please report this to the Waste and Recycling team.

If the recycling banks for textiles are not operated by Aberdeen City Council. Please call the telephone number on the bin if they are full.
