We apologise that some mixed recycling bins were not emptied on Hamilton Place and Beechgrove Terrace today. Affected residents should put their bin out at 7am tomorrow and we will be back to empty them.
Festive Service Changes
Festive bin collections
If your bin collection is due on Christmas Day (Wednesday 25 December) your collection will move to the Saturday before- 21 December.
If your bin collection is due on New Year’s Day (Wednesday 1 January) your collection will move to the Saturday before- 28 December.
Christmas tree collections
Residents with household wheeled bins will have their real Christmas tree collected on their usual brown bin day between 6 - 17 January. Residents are asked to put their tree next to their brown bin. You do not need to have a garden waste permit to have their tree collected.
Residents who use communal bins, both on and off-street, are requested to leave their tree by their communal bins between 6 - 17 January, allowing access for use and emptying of the bins.
For addresses on or south of Beach Boulevard, Justice Street, Castlegate, Union Street, Albyn Place, Queens Road and Skene Road, collections will from 6 - 10 January.
Collections will be from 13 – 17 January for all addresses north of the streets listed above.
You can also take Christmas trees to Household Waste and Recycling Centres out with these dates.
Small Electricals Bins
Due to resources over the festive period, collections may be reduced. If a small electricals (pink) bin is full, please use another pink bin or visit your local HWRC to recycle your small electricals.
Household Waste and Recycling Centres
Household Waste and Recycling Centres will be open standard Winter opening hours through the festive period, and will be closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
Those arriving in a large vehicle, trailer or with paint and chemicals, are required to book an appointment

Business Waste
There will be changes to our business waste bin collection schedule over the festive break. If your collection is normally on a Wednesday, please note the changes below:
Wednesday 25th December (Christmas Day) – Please put your bins out on Sunday 22nd December
Wednesday 1st January (New Year’s Day) – Please put your bins out on Saturday 28th December
Bin collections operate at reduced levels over the festive period so your bin collection time may be different than normal. Please ensure your bins are out from 7am on your collection day. If your bin is not emptied, please leave it out for collection the following day.
