Small electricals bins

19 pink street bins have been introduced around Aberdeen for citizens to recycle small electrical items.

  • Electrical items must fit through the bin opening. Items smaller than a microwave will fit.
  • Don't leave any excess or large electrical items on the street next to the bin. Large items should be taken to a recycling centre, or you can book a collection of bulky waste
  • Batteries must not be put in household waste bins as they pose a risk of catching fire in bin lorries or at sorting centres. Batteries must be removed where possible before disposal with the exception of products such as laptops, mobile phones, electric toothbrushes and tablets with lithium batteries built into them. Loose batteries can be recycled at battery recycling points

The pink small electricals bin can be found at the following locations:

ReUse facilities

Reducing the amount we use, and reusing what we have, are even better ways of looking after our environment. Reusing materials keeps them in use longer and reduces what we produce, at the same time reducing emissions, energy requirements and cost.

Our Reuse Facilities webpage shows the locations of charity shops, clothes banks, and other reuse schemes to help you find the nearest place that can help you reuse items, as well as find pre-loved items for your home.
