Bin Collections
Residents with household wheeled bin collections on Wednesday 25 December and Wednesday 1 January will receive a collection on Saturday 21 December and Saturday 28 December respectively.
To find out when your bin is due for collection you can use our online calendar:
Waste collections operate at reduced levels over the festive period and your bin uplift time may be different to normal. Please have your bin out by 7am to ensure your bin is emptied.
Bad weather can cause collection delays – please leave your bin out and check for updates.
Christmas tree collections
Households with wheeled bins
We will collect your real Christmas tree on your usual brown bin collection day between 6-17 January. Please place your tree next to your bin.
Residents do not need to have a garden waste permit to have their tree collected.
Households using communal bins
Please leave your tree beside your communal bin, ensuring the bin is still accessible to others and collection crews.
Remember, you can recycle your tree at your nearest Household Waste and Recycling Centre at any time.
Recycling points
Recycling points will remain open throughout the festive period. If your recycling bin is full, please take additional items to your nearest recycling point. Find out more about recycling points.
Household Waste and Recycling Centres
Household Waste and Recycling centres will be closed on Christmas Day and New Years day only.
When visiting a HWRC remember:
- ID is required (City home address only)
- Larger vehicles and trailers need to book an appointment
