Housing Land Audit 2024

Draft Housing Land Audit 2024

The annual housing land audit gives details of the location, characteristics, and status of sites which make up the housing land supply in Aberdeen. It is used to determine if there is sufficient land available for housing development and also to inform the planning of future infrastructure such as roads, schools and drainage.

The audit is undertaken jointly by Aberdeen City Council and Aberdeenshire Council in consultation with a wide range of stakeholders. It has a base date of 1 April 2024 and lists sites with a capacity for four or more units which are allocated for housing in the Local Development Plan or have planning consent for housing development. Spatial data of the 2024 Housing Land Audit can be found here.

The draft audit is now available through the attachments below and we would welcome your comments on it. The consultation documents comprise:

  1. Introduction and Glossary - This includes an explanation of some important changes made to this year's audit and provides definitions of the terms used.
  1. Draft Housing Land Audit - Spreadsheet giving details of all individual sites and summary information on annual programming for areas and settlements.

If you have any queries about the audit or the consultation process, please email us at ldp@aberdeencity.gov.uk. If you would like to view and comment on sites within Aberdeenshire, you can do this online.

Responses to the consultation will be used to make amendments to the draft audit and a meeting will be held in November to discuss any outstanding issues. All stakeholders who submit a response are welcome to attend this meeting, further details of which will be provided nearer the time.
