Aberdeen Fireworks Night 2024

Fireworks display begins at 7:30pm

Help and advice

  • Park and Ride available from Bridge of Don, Kingswells and The Aberdeen Altens Hotel. 
  • Park and Ride drop off and return pick up point at the beach will be Wellington Street. 
  • The best vantage points for the display are along the beach esplanade from Footdee public toilets.
  • Blue badge parking is available. Space is limited and is available on a first come first served basis. At the end of the display drivers will be held back until the crowds have left the area.
  • Remember to wrap up warm, leave dogs at home and please don't bring your own fireworks or alcohol.
  • Please don't bring large bags with you to the event. Bag searches will be carried out on arrival.
  • Please do not bring drones to the event.
  • Please remember, the police and stewards are there for your safety, please follow their instructions when given.
  • This year's display will not be to music.

Park and Ride will be available from Bridge of Don, Kingswells and The Aberdeen Altens Hotel. Drop off point will be Wellington Street. More details will be available soon. 

Road closures and traffic restrictions 

There will be road closures and traffic restrictions in place for the Fireworks.  More information will be available soon. 

We highly recommend you use public transport or the Park and Ride services from Altens Hotel, Bridge of Don and Kingswells Park and Ride sites. They all have drop off and pick up points on Wellington Street, very close to the display area.

No, there isn't any dedicated parking for the event. There is a limited amount of parking for Blue Badge holders only. More details will be available soon. Don't forget your blue badge and spaces are available on a first come first served basis. After the event, please be patient as you will need to wait for the crowds to leave before you can drive away.

Most of the roads close at 5:30pm and re-open at 9.00pm on Tuesday 5 November but there are some exceptions. More details will be announced soon. 

More than 12,000 people attend this event each year, so we must close the nearby roads to make sure everyone can enter, watch and leave the area safely.

In line with Scottish Fire and Rescue Service recommendations, we advise that you do not bring sparklers to public displays and events.

No, in the interests of public safety we do not allow any fireworks or sky lanterns at the event. Anyone found with fireworks will have them taken away.

As this is a very popular and busy event please ensure you keep a close watch on young children at all times. Please tell your children that if they get lost to tell a Police Officer or Event Steward wearing hi-visibility clothing. Parents and carers should immediately report a lost child to a Police Officer or Event Steward with a description of their appearance and clothing.

Yes there will be toilets available. 

Yes there will be catering available. A number of the existing traders on the esplanade will be open for business.
