The Granite Mile is at the heart of Aberdeen – and in the heart of Aberdonians. Even as it is undergoing its current transformation, there is an abundance of shops and outlets, from High Street names to proudly local independent traders offering everything from hard-to-find vinyl records to high-end luxurious watches and jewellery. All of this, plus a range of popular cafes, restaurants and bars.

Meanwhile, the West End is fast becoming the chic and popular “go to” quarter of the Granite City. Its plethora of cool boutiques and art shops, sitting alongside quirky cafes and elegant wine bars and eateries has earned it the nickname of Aberdeen’s “Little Chelsea”.

Add in nearby Rosemount and you have the perfect neighbourhood to visit, walk, shop, play, eat and enjoy.

The oldest part of Aberdeen – rich with history and maritime heritage - has seen many changes over the centuries. Those changes continue today as work is underway to create a stunning new Aberdeen market.

But the Merchant Quarter is still home to some of Aberdeen’s most iconic shops, bars and restaurants where you can find everything from musical instruments to fine bistro dining - and even a pint in the city’s oldest bar. And the city’s oldest theatre, the Tivoli, will be an oasis of spectacle and laughter during the Christmas panto season.

Sitting cheek by jowl with the city’s transport links and Union Square just a stone’s throw away, the Merchant Quarter is proud of its colourful past while looking to its vibrant future.

Following the successful Curated Aberdeen Local Makers Market in Bon Accord Centre, the Curated in the Quad Market will return to the city, in partnership with Aberdeen Inspired. The event will feature a unique line up each weekend in the lead up
to Christmas with both new and established small businesses taking residence in festive wooden cabins in the beautiful surrounds of Marischal College Quadrangle. With gift options including arts, crafts, clothing, jewellery and homeware along with gourmet food and drink, there will be something to suit every taste this Christmas! 100% of the profits from the stall holder fees will go towards local charity Charlie House and their work supporting babies, children and young people with life-limiting or life-threatening  conditions, and their families.

For further information and stallholder listings please visit Aberdeen Inspired.
