Grief angels by David Owen

David Owen’s heartfelt and uplifting novel sensitively yet beautifully explores loss and healing. The main character deeply resonates with many who have experienced the loss of a loved one. The story (while having different points of view) mainly follows the story of Owen Marlow; a 15 year old boy who has been overwhelmed with grief and sadness since his father’s sudden passing, causing him to experience vivid visions which transport him to an alternate dimension.  Throughout the novel, Owen undertakes a perilous personal journey that promises him inner peace and understanding if he makes it out alive. Overall, Grief Angels is an inspiring read that puts an emphasis on the value of deep, personal connections with yourself as well as the importance of shared experiences with others.

As good as dead by Holly Jackson

Provides a thrilling end to the much beloved A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder series. Following the events of the second novel, Good Girl Bad Blood, Pip is suffering from PTSD and has even developed an addiction to pills. She uncovers several strange incidents that make her think someone is following her, but police dismiss her. They assume it's merely a reflection of her trauma. This book has you hooked from start to finish and the captivating story contains plot twists that will keep you on the edge of your seat. The deep character development keeps you invested in their personal journeys. Overall, it's a fantastic conclusion to the popular trilogy that makes you crave more of Jackson’s work. Highly recommend it to anyone who loves a good mystery!
