Pedestrian and Cycle Zones

Pedestrian and Cycle Zones are established at the following locations in Aberdeen city centre (with relevant exemptions for motor vehicles listed). Drivers must adhere to relevant regulatory signage that manages vehicles that are permitted to enter these zones.

  • Belmont Quarter (Back Wynd, Belmont Street, Gaelic Lane, and Little Belmont Street)

Taxis and private hire vehicles can enter at any time.

Vehicles associated with ‘Blue Badge’ holders (and displaying a valid ‘Blue Badge’) can enter at any time to access dedicated parking bays on Back Wynd or allow disabled person(s) to board / alight.

Vehicles can enter between the hours of 4.30pm and 11am for the purpose of loading / unloading.

Vehicles not exempt from Union Street Bus Gates can enter Back Wynd between the hours of 4.30pm and 11am for the purpose of taking access to the central section of Union Street for loading.

Vehicles can enter at any time to access off-street parking serving adjacent properties.

Castlegate

  • Vehicles can enter for loading between the hours of 4pm and 10am.

Loch Street (between Berry Street and Harriet Street) / George Street (between Loch Street and St Andrew Street)

  • Goods vehicles can enter at any time for the purpose of loading.

Schoolhill / Upperkirkgate (between Harriet Street and Flourmill Lane)

  • Vehicles can enter between the hours of 4.30pm and 11am for the purpose of loading / unloading.

Shiprow (between Shore Brae and Market Street)

  • Goods vehicles can enter between the hours of 4pm and 10am for the purpose of loading.

St Nicholas Street

  • Goods vehicles can enter between the hours of 4.30pm and 11am for the purpose of loading.

The Green

  • Motor vehicles can enter between the hours of 4pm and 10am for the purpose of loading.

Netherkirkgate / St Catherine’s Wynd

  • Motor vehicles can enter for the purpose of accessing disabled parking bays, loading, and allowing passengers to board / alight.
