Business rates calculations
You can use the Business Rates Calculator to estimate your business rates bill. Your Rateable Value is determined by the Grampian Assessor. It is based on the market value of the property and is reviewed every five years. This is multiplied by the rates poundage set by the Scottish Government.
If you think your Rateable Value is too high you can appeal it in writing to The Grampian Assessor, Woodhill House, Westburn Road, Aberdeen, AB16 5GE or e-mail assessor@grampian-vjb.gov.uk. No payment or part payment of rates should be withheld pending the outcome of any appeal made to the Assessor. You should continue to pay as normal and if the appeal is successful, you will be refunded any overpayment of rates.
Report Fraud
If you are aware of anyone claiming business relief that they may not be entitled to you can report it using our online report fraud form.
