Aberdeen City Council established the Economic Policy Panel in 2017 with a remit of evaluating and advising on the economic performance of the city and the region. The third annual report by the independent panel was launched today (11 November 2020).
The panel comprises of Professor Graeme Roy, Director of the Fraser of Allander Institute, Dougie Peedle, Economic Associate for Pro Bono Economics, and Hanan Morsy, Lead Economist, Southern and Eastern Mediterranean for the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
Their work supports the Council’s annual credit rating assessment by Moody’s, following the £370million bond issue on the London Stock Exchange in 2016 to support the capital programme.
Aberdeen City Council is the first authority in Scotland to issue a bond and to commission an annual report on economic performance.
