How we use your information
Aberdeen City Council collects your information in order to provide you with furniture, flooring and white goods for your tenancy or any other items that are requested. The Council shares the information you provide with The Furnishing Service, CRNS, CAS Duncan for the purpose of delivering, installing and maintaining the furniture, flooring or white goods. Depending on the request made, we may have to share your information with another third party supplier but we will discuss this with you.
How long we keep your information for
If you are living in a Council tenancy your records will be kept securely and regularly updated during your tenancy with Aberdeen City Council. Your records will be kept securely for 7 more years from the close of your tenancy, or the last acknowledgement of debt, whichever is later.
If you are not in a Council tenancy and where you have not been in contact with the Council housing services about any other matter, we will retain your information for 7 years after your items have been delivered to you.
Your rights
You have rights in relation to your data, including the right to ask for a copy of it. You also have the right to make a complaint to the Information Commissioner's Office if you think we haven’t handled your data properly.
Our legal basis
Aberdeen City Council is the Data Controller for the information you provide. We understand our basis in Data Protection Law for processing this information to be 6(1)(e) of the General Data Protection Regulation. This is because it is part of our public task under the Housing (Scotland) Act 1987.
