Trauma Informed

We would hope that all of our carers are Trauma Informed, meaning that they will understand the impact of the experiences of many of the children and young people they are caring for.

Often children and young people will display their feelings in ways that are difficult to understand so it is important to learn how to support them and also how caring for a child or young person can affect you.

The National Trauma Training Programme can be accessed using this link -

Homepage - National Trauma Transformation Programme

This training programme is relevant for all carers and we would ask that you all look at and engage with this training which offers essential information and guidance on:

  • Understanding trauma
  • How to support children and young people who have experienced trauma
  • The importance of caring for yourself
