How we use your information
The information which you provide for use on the grant funding application form will be used by Aberdeen City Council for the following purposes:
- To verify applicant identity
- To assess eligibility and suitability for a grant award from the Learning Journey for SMEs Grant Scheme.
- To make appropriate grant awards in line with the supported interventions, as defined by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
- To communicate with applicants
- To administer funding to successful applicants as per grant conditions
In addition to the information collected via the application, we will also process and store:
- Any grant offer, or rejection letter, relating to applications submitted
- Copies of grant agreements, including bank details, for successful awards
For successful applicants we use your information to administer funding, and to retain contact as to the progress of your business. This includes gathering relevant information from you (within 12 months of the award date) on outputs and outcomes being monitored in relation to the Learning Journey for SMEs Grants Scheme in line with the external funder.
How long we keep information
We will keep the information you provide on the grant application form for a maximum of 6 years.
Your rights
You have rights in relation to your data, including the right to ask for a copy of it. See more information about all the rights you have and how they work in practice, as well as contact details for the Council’s Data Protection Officer. You also have the right to make a complaint to the Information Commissioner’s Office. They are the body responsible for making sure organisations like the Council handle your data properly.
Our legal basis
Aberdeen City Council is the Data Controller for this information. Whenever we process personal data, we must have a legal basis in data protection law for doing so. The Council understands its legal basis for this processing as being part of our public task.
