How we use your information

Aberdeen City Libraries is encouraging young people aged 8-15 years old to become Library Champions to support the development, design and evaluation of library services for children and young people across the city.

We ask children and young people to provide some personal information to keep in touch with you to invite you to meetings, send you information about group projects, ask you for feedback and to support your participation as a Library Champion.

We will also use the information you provide to gather statistical information regarding the number, gender and age range of people taking part in the project.  We also collect and report on the number of children attending school in the city who take part. This information is reported internally and is also shared with organisations such as Audit Scotland, the Scottish Library and Information Council (SLIC) and for evaluative purposes. This information is anonymised so that you can’t be identified.

We will not share information with anyone else.

How long we will keep your information for

We keep this information for the duration of your participation in the initiative and for a maximum of 3 months afterwards to enable statistical reporting.  The statistical information will be kept for 5 years for reporting purposes, no personal information is included.
