How we use your information
When you apply for an Export Health Certificate, Aberdeen City Council keeps a record of the information you provide. The information you provide may be used in relation to other functions of the Council’s Protective Services (Environmental Health and Trading Standards) and will be used to update core contact details across the organisation.
Your data will be stored on secure servers within the EEA by our suppliers Firmstep Ltd and on servers maintained by Aberdeen City Council in our local data centre with BrightSolid.
A copy of the certificate may be shared with the Animal and Plant Health Agency, the Department for Environment Food and Rural Affairs, Food Standards Agency, Food Standards Scotland, the European Commission, Scottish Government and other local authorities as they all have a role in food exports. The certificate contains business information only.
How long we keep your information for
We keep the certificate application itself for 6 months. The Export Health Certificate and any other relevant records relating to it will be retained on our systems for 7 years.
