Westburn Park is a firm favourite with people who grew up in the city. Facilities within the park grounds include indoor and outdoor tennis courts, world championship standard bowling greens, football pitches, skate ramps and children’s cycling proficiency track and play area.
Arguably the park’s most charming feature is the open section of the West Burn that runs though the heart of the park. During summer children can be seen racing sticks along the burn and under the bridges.
Westburn Park is also home to Westburn House which is a classic mansion designed by Archibald Simpson in 1839. , The house was bought by the Council in 1901 and for some time was used as refreshment rooms, with an open verandah added for the purpose of serving teas and coffees, and later used by play groups and craft groups.
A great place for families, exercise, sunbathing and picnics.
