How We Use Your Information
Aberdeen City Libraries wants young people aged 8-15 to become Library Champions. This means you can help make a difference to our libraries for everyone.
We need some details about you so we can stay in touch, invite you to meetings, share information about projects, ask for your ideas, and help you as a Library Champion. We also record how many young people join, their age, and gender. This information is shared without any names to groups like Audit Scotland and the Scottish Library and Information Council (SLIC) to help improve our services. No one else will know who you are.
Keeping Your Information
We will keep your details while you are a Library Champion and for up to three months after you stop. This helps us with our reports. The numbers we use for reports will be kept for five years, but your personal details won't be included.
Your Rights
You have rights about your data, like asking for a copy of it. See more information about all of the rights you have, as well as the contact details for the Council’s Data Protection Officer. If you think your information was not handled right, you can tell the Information Commissioner’s Office.
Our Legal Basis
Aberdeen City Council looks after your data to keep it safe. When we use your information, we follow data protection laws. We collect your data to offer library services and to do research and equality checks.
