Know what you want to read?
Remember that you can reserve children's items (for free!) from any Aberdeen City library if you can't find what you're looking for in your local library. When you joined the library, along with your library card, you also got a PIN (personal identification number). Go to the online catalogue and find the item you want to reserve, click on Reserve and follow the prompts. When the item arrives at your library, you'll be notified by telephone or email.
Can't find the book you're looking for?
If you can't find the book you want, then why not suggest that it's bought for stock. You can do this at your local library or through the library catalogue. Or have a look on Recommended Reads Age 8-11 for some suggestions. There are collections of Quick Read books in every library. Just type 'quick reads' in the Advanced search 'Anywhere' box on the online catalogue and select Junior Fiction / Junior Non-fiction from the drop down box under Advanced Search
Maths Week Scotland
Thanks to funding from Maths Week Scotland in 2023, we worked in partnership with TechFest and CityMoves to celebrate 'Maths in Motion' between now and December.
What's on
Throughout the year we have events and activities to support British Science Week, Scottish Book Week, World Book Day and World Book Night. Keep a look out for information at your local library and on our Events page.
Share a book you've enjoyed!
Tell us about a book you've enjoyed by sending a review to learningdevelopment@aberdeencity.gov.uk and we'll put it up on the Recommended Reads Age 8-11 page.
