Your library membership enables you to access a free and varied range of online resources. These are listed alphabetically below, and there is a help guide available. 

Please note that most resources can be accessed from anywhere but some are only accessible from library sites.

These free online resources/services (excluding Business Information resources) are provided to library members for educational, research and other non-commercial uses only, in line with each resource's Terms and Conditions. Please see individual services for specific terms of use statements.

Britannica Online (Student)

Website contains millions of pages of historical news content, including The Press and Journal (1748 - 1950) and The Evening Express (1879 - 1955) and enables keyword searching. The website offers the ability to download and save articles in PDF format.

British Newspaper Archive

A wonderful, quirky online educational resource for children aged 3-6. Filled with fun, humorous characters and lively colourful settings, children will love playing these cheerful educational games.

A children's website offering educational resources, games, quizzes and activities based round curricular areas. Aimed mainly at 7 to 11 year olds, there are also some activities for 5 to 7s and 11 and over.
