This is Northfield is a partnership programme funded by ACC Education and led by ACC Creative Learning. It will deliver four artists’ residencies in 2023. Young people from Northfield Academy will work with artists to creative a positive portrayal of the school and its community.
AAGM is a lead partner in one of the residencies – What’s Your Treasure? – with Paper Houses Design aka Mhairi Allan.
What’s Your Treasure? invites Northfield pupils to offer new perspectives on artworks and objects in the Aberdeen Archives Gallery & Museums collection.
Working with Mhairi, pupils will explore what’s inside Aberdeen Treasure Hub, selecting items from the collection to inspire artistic responses that bring together their ideas about place, community and ‘treasure’.
The residency will culminate an exhibition featuring objects selected by the pupils alongside their own works at the Treasure Hub in Northfield as part of our Open Day on 17 June.
