Where better to start than with Conor Gault’s 2016 film, Le Fabuleux Destin, a cinematic day in the life of a French girl living in Aberdeen. Narrated in French, it explores images and symbols associated with popular forms of Scottish culture through Alexandra Tautin’s eyes.

2024 also marks 150 years since the first impressionist exhibition in Paris. At Aberdeen Art Gallery you can discover the far-reaching influence of French and Scottish art of the late 19th century through exquisite pairings of works by French and Scottish artists exploring the same ideas.
