Tickets - Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a ticket for all events?
We run a wide range of different events and exhibitions. Most of our programme is unticketed and some events are ‘drop-in.’ Pre-booking is advised when offered.

I've changed my mind/I can't attend any more. Can I get a refund?
Tickets are non-refundable unless the event has been cancelled or rescheduled. Unless otherwise stated, you can transfer tickets to friends or family at no additional cost. In line with our Terms and Conditions, the resale of tickets is not permitted.

Who is eligible for concession pricing?

  • Children under 18
  • Ages 60+
  • Students
  • Young Scot cardholders
  • Registered disabled
  • Unwaged or in receipt of benefits
  • Refugees and asylum seekers

Concession pricing applies to the following membership groups:

  • Museums Association
  • Art Fund
  • Association of Scottish Visitor Attractions
  • Friends of Aberdeen Art Gallery

Children under 12 and essential carers are admitted to most of our ticketed events for free but must have their own ticket and be accompanied by a paying ticket holder.

We reserve the right to alter our concessions policy for individual events. Please make sure you select the correct ticket at time of booking, since we may be unable to honour tickets which have been booked in error.

Do I need to bring proof of my concession status?
We reserve the right to request proof of your concession status. Please ensure you have this easily accessible on arrival.

What is your babes in arms policy?
Babies under 18 months are welcome in our venues and are admitted to most events without a ticket if they sit on an adult’s lap. We reserve the right to request patrons to leave if they are disruptive to others. Children over 18 months require their own ticket unless otherwise stated.

Will I be admitted if I arrive late?

We try to admit people who arrive late wherever possible. You may have to wait for a suitable pause in the event, such as between musical pieces. In some instances, we may not be able to admit late arrivals due to the nature of the event.  Wherever possible, we will endeavour to provide this information on our website in advance of the performance.

What is your policy for photography and video recording?

Unless otherwise stated, we do not allow photography or recording within our events spaces. You are welcome to take photos in our exhibition spaces, but we don’t allow the use of flash photography, tripods or selfie sticks.

Can I buy tickets in-person at the venue?
Tickets should be bought in advance on our online box office. Where available, tickets may be purchased at the venue on the day of the event, where we accept cash and card payment.
