A welcome return to Aberdeen Art Gallery for Aberdeen Artists Society, one of Scotland’s longest-established artist-led membership organisations. Formed in 1827 by a group of artists with James Giles and Archibald Simpson as President and Vice President respectively, the Society’s aim was, and continues to be, “the mutual improvement of painting and the furtherance of art in general in Aberdeen.” This exhibition of selected works by UK-based artists includes drawing and painting, ceramics, sculpture, prints, photography, jewellery and video. The judging panel for the 2022 exhibition are Joe Fan RSA and Ade Adesina RSA and Rachel Maclean.
