Ishbel is S6 at Robert Gordon’s College, and has been playing recorder for around 9 years. She is currently working towards a diploma after achieving her grade 8 last summer. Ishbel is part of the Aberdeen Society of Recorder Players who meets every couple of weeks, and for the past two years has also taken part in the National Youth Recorder Orchestra summer school. In December of 2022, Ishbel performed as a guest soloist at the Aberdeen Orpheus Choir’s annual Christmas concert, and is always looking for new performance opportunities. Apart from recorder, Ishbel also plays violin, a little piano and guitar.
Ehan Abrar, piano
Meet Ehan Abrar, a remarkable 13-year-old S2 pupil at Albyn School in Aberdeen, who is passionate about diverse pursuits. Fuelled by a love for the piano, Ehan's musical journey began at 4 years of age. Surprisingly, no one from his family is a musician but they all carry love for music and art. Beyond the keys, his inquisitive mind thrives in the realm of science and space exploration. From learning about the mysteries of the cosmos to playing harmonious compositions, Ehan's curiosity knows no bounds. He is an avid traveller who has visited 29 countries on three continents; he seeks inspiration from diverse cultures, weaving those experiences into his artistic expressions. Off the stage, you'll find him smashing shuttlecocks on the badminton court, displaying the same precision and dedication that defines his multifaceted interests. Ehan has completed his Trinity Grade 8 Piano with distinction, now preparing for the ATCL Diploma in Music
Charlotte Slater, violin
Charlotte continues to enjoy receiving her violin lessons from Guera Crockett. She has just left secondary school and now has a part time position as a support musician at Big Noise Torry. Charlotte has been a member of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain (NYOGB) for the past 3 years. It has brought fantastic opportunities to meet other passionate young people and to perform in great venues. Most recently Charlotte has accepted a place and scholarship at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland where she is looking forward to beginning her studies this September.
