The Details

An experienced guide will provide:

A 1-hour tour of the Aberdeen Maritime Museum which will allow your clients to explore the story of the city’s long and often dramatic relationship with the sea, through fascinating objects and artworks associated with shipbuilding, fishing, whaling, trading and offshore energy. The tour will highlight the must-see artefacts which include models of Aberdeen-built ships, from clippers to one of the first modern warships in the Japanese navy. Your clients can also take in the detail of the 9-metre scale model of the Murchison platform – as close as many of us will ever get to an offshore oil rig.

After exploring the eye-opening exhibitions on show your clients can enjoy tea, coffee and a buttery at the Aberdeen Maritime Museum.

The guide will then lead your clients to Provost Skene’s House, the city’s oldest surviving townhouse that now celebrates the pioneering people of Aberdeen and the North-East of Scotland who have not only shaped the city but have also helped transform the world. An introduction will be delivered against the magnificent backdrop of Provost Skene’s House, highlighting interesting facts about the history of the building and key pieces the group must visit when exploring the gallery independently following the introduction.

The tour will conclude with a 1 hour guided tour of the must-see artworks at Aberdeen Art Gallery which promises your client a five-star experience. Aberdeen Art Gallery is home to one of the finest collections in the UK, showcasing works from the 15th century right up to the present day. Not only can your clients experience a captivating variety of Scottish art under one roof they can also discover exquisite works by celebrated international artists. The award-winning Gallery also offers panoramic views of the city skyline from the rooftop terrace.

Light lunch and cake will be provided at the Art Gallery where your clients can relax and reflect on the marvellous collections they have explored.

Add whisky tasting sessions to the end of the tour. Price on request.
