Self-guided visits at our venues
Teacher-led class visits are a great way to explore displays in our venues to support studies on local heritage, creativity and learn about the people from the North East of Scotland who have shaped the city and changed the world.

Portrait Workshops at Aberdeen Art Gallery
Let’s focus on faces and explore portraiture. These free workshops introduce a range of historical and contemporary portraits on display in the gallery. Sessions support cross curricular learning and include creative activities in our learning space.

Aberdeen Maritime Museum Reopening 10 February
Aberdeen Maritime Museum tells the story of the city’s long and often dramatic relationship with the sea. Discover fascinating objects and artworks associated with shipbuilding, fishing, whaling, trading and offshore energy.
Visit our new exhibition Wreck and Rescue. This exhibition coincides with the 200th anniversary of the RNLI and the near centenary of their arrival in Aberdeen.

French American artist Louise Bourgeois is perhaps best known for her large-scale spider sculptures. This exhibition, the only Scottish showing of her work, focuses on art created during the last 20 years of her life. It was a period of extraordinary creativity, during which Bourgeois re-examined many of her lifelong concerns and explored the themes of identity, gender, childhood, family and memory.
We’re offering free workshops in May to complement the exhibition.
