Aberdeen's waterlogged soil conditions preserve a great deal of medieval material, including rare organic items such as shoes, textiles and wooden artefacts used hundreds of years ago.
We continue to collect material from excavations in Aberdeen, as well as other local discoveries reported to Treasure Trove. We have some prehistoric items and ancient Greek and Egyptian material donated by local collectors.
