The Edge of Evening (Chronology of Disunion)

Sara Pedigo undertook a BA fine art at Flagler College, St. Augustine, Florida. and an MFA in Painting at the University of Massachusetts. She is Professor and Chair of the Department of Visual and Performing Arts, at Flagler College. Her work has been seen in numerous group and juried exhibitions in the United States including selection for the 2006 Outwin Boochever Portrait Competition Exhibition, Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery, Washington DC. During 2020 she was Artist-in-Residence at Barton College, Wilson, NC.
This self-portrait combines an evening view through the window revealing the interior of Pedigo’s studio with the surface reflection of the outside world. She says: ’Painting on top of an existing interior, as I worked, moments of the original work visually merged with the new image. The final self-portrait is the accumulation of multiple evenings in the studio over three months.’
