Girl at a Table (Lucy)

Simon Thomas Braiden is a self-taught artist whose work has been seen in exhibitions in London, Manchester and Edinburgh and is held in collections, including that of the Groucho Club. He is a member of Manchester Academy of Fine Art and was previously included in the BP Portrait Award in 2018.
The portrait is of Lucy, whom Braiden met through a mutual friend. She agreed to sit for her portrait and the sitings took place at the artist’s studio. He says: ‘Lucy arrived wearing a beautifully patterned summer dress that complimented the Prussian blue walls of the room.’
